PRE APPRENTICESHIP/PRE UNIVERSITY ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY (QQI Level 5)

This one year full-time programme will introduce students to the world of Engineering. It aims to provide students with a wide range of experience within the Engineering sectors, while preparing students for entry into third level education, apprenticeships or direct entry into the workplace. Students will attend our purpose built engineering training workshop for one full day weekly. Here the students will use and learn how to operate different engineering machines including a CNC Lathe, a Laser Cutter and all welding types, including a VR welding simulator. This programme will allow you to become familiar with the terminology, materials, equipment and working practices within the Engineering industry. The course content will be delivered in a practical and hands on environment where students will gain experience in Engineering Processes, Engineering Drawing and Computer Aided Design (2D and 3D CAD).
