Health service skills with occupational therapy (QQI Level 5)

The aim of this full-time one year programme is to provide the learner with an understanding of treatment and therapeutic interventions in everyday activities in a variety of healthcare settings. 

On completion of this programme learners will have the skills, knowledge and competencies to work under supervision in a variety of healthcare settings, including as an OT Assistant, or to progress to further and or higher education and training in Ireland or the UK.

Leaving Certificate or QQI Level 4, or equivalent standard of education. All applicants are subject to an interview and an online assessment. Garda Vetting is also required.

€50 QQI Level 5 Certification Fee – Medical Card holders or those in receipt of a Social Welfare payment are exempt from this Certification Fee.

VTOS: If you are over 21 years of age, are unemployed and have been getting certain social welfare payments for at least 6 months you can apply for the Vocational Training and Opportunities Scheme (VTOS). Successful applicants can receive a VTOS payment for the duration of the course, instead of their social welfare payment. Small meal and travel allowances may also apply
